Presentation:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Our 54th Summer Session <\/strong><\/b>organized by the Ren\u00e9 Cassin Foundation in partnership with local authorities and the International Committee of the Red Cross, will be held from June 23 to July 18, 2025<\/strong> in Strasbourg and by videoconference<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Each year, this historic training session in Europe welcomes 150 to 200 international participants <\/strong>from all over the world to learn about international human rights law.<\/p>\n

Nearly 50 internationally recognized experts<\/strong> (academics, members of international organizations, heads of associations and NGOs, etc.) will be presenting excellent presentations to our participants.<\/p>\n

The program, aimed at advanced students of legal, political, human and social sciences, is also open to teachers and researchers, members of the legal profession, national and international civil servants and anyone with a general interest in human rights.<\/p>\n

The 54th Summer Session comprises three units<\/b>. The first will include in-depth lessons on the international protection of human rights, while the second unit will be dedicated to international humanitarian law, in partnership with the ICRC. Finally, the third and last unit will be devoted to international criminal law. <\/p>\n

Classes are held simultaneously in French and English<\/strong> in two separate lecture theaters. A live webcast(in French only<\/b>) is also available for remote participants unable to travel to Strasbourg (with a replay transmitted on D+2). <\/p>\n

We invite you to read the INFORMATION BROCHURE<\/a><\/strong>which details all the information relating to this training session, and in particular the conditions governing the various fees<\/strong>, accommodation<\/strong>, visas<\/strong> and cancellation conditions<\/strong>. In particular, we draw your attention to the fact that in the event of cancellation solely due to visa refusal, the registration fee is refundable less a 100 euro handling fee<\/strong>, upon presentation of proof from the consular authorities confirming visa refusal<\/strong>. This request for reimbursement must be made before July 20, 2025<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Financial aid and financing of registration fees<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The Ren\u00e9 Cassin Foundation grants <\/span>a limited number of financial subsidies to on-site participants only.<\/strong> Applications must be made when registering on the Foundation’s website, and must be accompanied by all necessary supporting documents:
\n– CV,
\n– Copy of diploma or proof of university registration,
\n– Letter of motivation,
\n– Two letters of recommendation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In view of the limited amount of financial support available from the Foundation, participants are strongly advised to contact governmental and intergovernmental agencies, international organizations, academic institutions, various foundations or organizations and donors who may be able to provide financial assistance.<\/p>\n

Since June 2022, the Ren\u00e9 Cassin Foundation has held the QUALIOPI label<\/strong> for its training activities, following an audit conducted by APAVE, an approved body. As a result, the 54th Summer Session is accessible to funding issued by competence operators (OPCO). To use your rights, please contact your employer. <\/p>\n

KAIROS – France Travail may also cover the cost of training.<\/p>\n

However, it is not eligible for funding under the French Personal Training Account (CPF).<\/p>\n

\n

Accommodation:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

An <\/span>accommodation in a student residence <\/span>you<\/span> when you apply for admission online. <\/span>Please note that reservations are made from <\/span>from Sunday to Saturday. <\/span> Additional nights are your responsibility. No amount paid for accommodation will be reimbursed. The Foundation is not responsible for any difficulties related to accommodation conditions, which are the responsibility of the residence management. <\/span><\/p>\n

An option to book accommodation at a preferential rate is available at the CROUS Paul Appell University Residence, in a single room (without breakfast).
\nDistance to course location: 10 to 15 minutes on foot.<\/p>\n
